This year flew by! Juggling a little whipper snapper of a toddler and baby has definitely kept us on our toes but we wouldn’t have it any other way. I went back and forth thinking I was going to fully redecorate Parker’s nursery; however, I didn’t have the time, money, or energy to follow through. I still love the black, white, and grey monochrome nursery. And who knows, we may need to keep the nursery gender neutral in case we decide to have more! Maybe. To see more about this gender-neutral nursery, be sure to check out my previous post HERE. Obviously, in your baby’s nursery, you need the obvious things like crib, diaper pale, etc… but I wanted to share my favorite (less obvious) nursery room items, most of which I use every day.

Personalized Art:
I love these block letters made by House of Crazi. House of Crazi was created by a mom of two, who also happens to be a U.S. Veteran. She makes each of these letters by hand and I absolutely LOVE them. They are non-toxic and lightweight, no hammers or nails needed as they able to stick on the wall with just some double-sided hanging tape. To see all of the colors and styles available, check out House of Crazi’s site HERE. To see how we decorated Jaxin’s Big Boy room with these letters check out my previous post HERE.
Nap and Night Time necessities:
Sound machine. I love this sound machine by Dom. It’s loud enough for everyday use, but also, small enough for travel. It has a recharable battery and is able to hold its charge throughout the night. He had originally bought this as a travel sound machine for my first but ended up buying another one for Parker’s main sound machine at night.
Sleep sack. When we transitioned Parker from our room to nursery at 4 months old, he was not flipping from his back to stomach yet, so I felt more comfortable putting him in a Magic Suit. He loved the coziness and I loved that it kept on his back. He slept great in it. Once he outgrew it, I transitioned him to a sleep sack and love the one listed below.
Black out shades. I love these black out shades, they block light even during nap time! They do not have strings, you can easily customize them to fit your windows, and my husband was able to install them with no problems.
Teething Toys: Sofie, pacifiers, I throw in a couple of stuff for my teething baby to hopefully find to chew on and hopefully give a few extra minutes of sleep.
Peace of Mind:
Baby Monitor. We use the Nest as our baby monitor. We love it. In fact, we have a camera in the nursery, toddler’s room, play room, living room, and even one pointed at our playground outside. A little ‘Big Brother’ of us but I can’t tell you how often we use it to quickly check on the kids if we are in a different room or if we have a babysitter. We are able to look at all of our cameras from our phones as well as the babysitter can quickly ask our Alexa show, “Alexa, show me Parker’s room” and the camera on Parker’s nursery will pop up. The night vision on it is awesome and I’m easily to peek at my sleeping baby throughout the night.
Air quality and Room temperature. I don’t know why I am always paranoid about air quality and room temperature, but I purchased an Awair. This is linked to an app on my phone and I’m able to see what the room temperature and air quality is. There are also options to connect it with your Alexa as well as connect it with a humidifier to help regulate humidity in your baby’s nursery. Pretty cool.
Changing station:
I love having a dresser because I keep all the goodies in the drawers. Goodies such as: lotion, creams, onesies, etc…. I love having a diaper caddy on top of the dresser with diapers, wipes, lotions, and cream all ready to go. I love Vanicream. Numerous pediatricians have recommended it and it was the only thing that helped with my kids eczema. Aquaphore is also a go to of mine for chapped cheeks, I lube my babies up every night with this before bedtime.
Hope you love Parker’s nursery and have found this helpful! Anything else you found necessary in your nursery? Any questions about items your considering to get but not sure it you need it? Let me know!
